BARBOS FINISH 4TH AT CLUB NATIONAL 7S

The Denver Barbarians finished 4th in NYC. The coaches named a young team, with each and every player on tour in their 20’s, but that’s not to say that the Barbos didn’t have plenty of 7’s experience in their lineup. The games were played at the Baker Athletic Complex in Manhattan’s most northern neighborhood, Inwood.

The Barbos opened up their Saturday with a draw against Atlanta Old White. Michael Al-Jiboori came through in the clutch, stripping the ball and scoring at the other end 90M later. The Barbos then won big against Belmont Shore B, before dropping their final pool game against Mystic River. Due to a total point score margin, the Barbos advanced to the knock out rounds with a 1-1-1 record.

After gutting out a quarter final win against Washington Athletic Club, the Barbos dropped the semi-final to Belmont Shore and was narrowly defeated in the 3rd place game against Mystic River. The team played gritty all weekend, and dealt with monsoon conditions all day Saturday. The team is listed and pictured below.
