BARBOS LOOKING TO RIGHT WRONGS AS PARK CITY COMES TO TOWN
Your Denver Barbarians take on the Park City Haggis in a “do or die” league game Sunday morning at Cook patk. The game will kick off at 11am, and will be a true test for the men in Green & White. Veteran flyhalf and team leader Noah Pflaum commented on the gravity of the moment.
The lineup (below), features a mix of veterans who look to bring the intensity from the opening whistle. Corey Jacobs moves into the starting XV after rehabbing a strained calf, and traditional loosie Alex Wormer bumps into the tight five with the big boys. University of Northern Iowa product Kaleb Boleyn gets his first start at hooker, where he’s well protected in the scrum next to the skipper Steve Karas and Christian Rubio.
The coaches have selected 4 backs and 4 forwards on the bench, creating unique options for any 2nd half subs. Max Murphy has proven he can bump straight into prop from flanker or 2nd row and not miss a beat. The veteran’s defense and fitness has been stellar all fall and he’ll look to amp up the pace tomorrow morning as the dew dries up on a lushious Cook Park grass pitch.
