MEET LIAM WYNNE
Liam Wynne (at all costs) has cemented himself in the Colorado rugby community ever since his days down in Colorado Springs. He then took his game up North to Fort Collins where he led the Colorado State Rugby team (Ram for life) for 4 years. Word on the street is Liam actually tackled and poached the great Ben Pinkelman at a chilly evening training back in the FoCo days.
His game has grown steadily in his time as a Barbo. He has played with the team since 2015, always pushing the players around him to raise and elevate their game. He was a part of the 2016 Denver 7’s Selects team that hoisted the hardware and defended their RugbyTown title from the year before. Liam’s stoic effort makes him the type of teammate you enjoy seeing succeed. He’s easy to root for.
And then there’s the leg…! There are days off the tee where he’s impeccably accurate … but 7’s reveals the art of the drop kick. Can he thread a corner conversion when the pressure is on? I’ll take those odds.
With a mix of size, speed and accuracy, he’ll find minutes both in the forwards and backs. You have to be able to do it all in 7’s. Pass, run, tackle, ruck… Liam has added each piece of the 7’s this summer, making him a sure selection in the travelling 13.
