BARBOS HEAD TO RUGGERFEST HUNGRY

The month of September, gone in a flash. For the men in the Green & White, it involved a challenging integration into the fall XV’s season. The team lost their opener on the road to Boulder 31-17 on a beautiful, hot and sunny day at Pleasant View Park nearly a month ago. The team continued to train hard, and demand improvement over the labor day weekend. The following week, they unfortunately came up short against Park City Haggis 27-23 in a heartbreaking loss. So after a scorching hot summer of 7’s (literally and figuratively), the team found themselves staring down the barrel of an 0-2 record.

With their backs against the wall, how would the team rise to the occasion?

What would unfold next?

After all, failure is success if we learn from it.

A rebound win against the Highlanders 55-20, the team seemed to find their feet.

And now the illustrious pull of Aspen comes calling as it has for years past and years to come … can the Barbos return to their hardware winning ways of the past? Time will tell.

On September 16th, 2012 the Denver Barbarians defeated the Glendale Raptors by a final score of 73-21

After touching base with Club President Logan Collins, it appears the old wizard may just have one last hardware hoisting effort left in him. Keep your eyes peeled and nostrils open for the sweet smell of a freshly fried Corn Dog on what is shaping up to be a beautiful sunny weekend up in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Will Ruggerfest 53 be the one to turn this teams early season woes around? It’s up to the players to etch their names into Sunday Finals glory. We’ll see you in our usual corner, on the Southwest corner of Wagner. Take Care BarboFam
