BARBOS HEAD NORTH TO FACE THE FOCO FLAMINGOS
Your Denver Barbarians head north to face the Fort Collins Flamingos rugby club in a highly anticipated Rocky Mountain Rugby Championship matchup. The Barbos have old ties to the city of Fort Collins, with many a CSU alumni joining up with the Barbos after their college careers. The lads will look to continue their winning ways as they face their first test on the road. The Denver Barbos executive committee has had this Saturday circled on our calendar as we look to roster two different side in two different locations.
MEET JACK MILLER
Jack Miller (and his scandalous leg tattoos) have been playing rugby in the Front Range for some years now. The Hong Kong raised Miller began playing rugby when his parents made him “go outside and start playing with other kids”. Once he broke the shackles of his inert shyness, Jack shined brighter than the Rocky Mountain sunshine.

DENVER BARBARIANS THRASH BOULDER - FINAL SCORE: 83-26
After suffering a humbling defeat to Boulder RFC to open the 2021 fall XV’s season, the BarboFam circled November 6th in what would be the much sought after rematch. Seasons, fortunes and even fates can change in the blink of an eye. Was the 31-17 defeat on August 28th truly the moment of self reflection that launched this successful run in the late fall? Perhaps … it’s also possible that change can ALSO come slowly. It can permeate within a team like water breaking down stone. Slowly, but surely.
By the time this fateful November 6th rematch arrived, the men in Green & White were ready to show they had cemented the change needed to capture the Rocky Mountain Premiership. Under the magnificent Colorado sun, the Denver Barbarians were successful on the day, dismantling Boulder from start to finish.
A CLEAN OCTOBER SWEEP…
With the dust settled on a hard fought month of October, The Barbos have snatched their fall season back. It’s as simple as that …
After starting slow with an unexpected, lowly 1-2 record, the team has now caught a groove and have reeled in 4 straight wins. With the reintroduction of some key 7’s player who excelled this past summer, the Denver Barbarians have seen their attacking prowess surge during the win streak averaging a whopping 58 points per game over the last 4 hit outs.
Director of Rugby Danny Bell said it best “It took a while for the train to leave the station early on in the season, but now that it has, it’s full steam ahead.”
Let’s take a look back at the month of October and shower credit where it’s due.
